“Richard Mayfield is named photographer of the year”<\/strong>
\nMayfield has been taking pictures professionally for 14 years and is currently the Creative Director over 40 photography studios. His picture, entitled Lisa, won him the prestigious award. “I’m passionate about what I do and it’s wonderful to be recognised in this way,” he said. Mayfield added: “It was a a real pleasure to be joined by so many talented photographers that I admire and\u00a0respect. “I’m thrilled to have been named photographer of the year and that my work has been so well received by the\u00a0BIPP and its members.”\u00a0Mayfield’s image was selected from a group of seven pictures.\u00a0He also picked up four further awards across three different categories.\u00a0The annual awards ceremony celebrates the best work from the UK and abroad.\u00a0BIPP President Roy Meiklejohn said: “The Professional Photography Awards acknowledge the achievements,\u00a0sheer skill and dedication of professional photographers.”<\/p>\n

The BIPP Professional Photography Awards are a showcase for professional photographers, celebrating the very best work from the UK and internationally, and are some of the most respected within the industry. The prestigious awards ceremony took place at the British Film Institute on the Southbank in London on Friday 16 March 2012. Over 40 awards were presented for outstanding levels of creativity in professional photography. BIPP President Roy Meiklejon FBIPP said \u201cthese awards acknowledge the achievements, sheer skill and dedication of professional photographers, and these photographers have produced some wonderful images\u201d.<\/p>\n
